SSGF 2024 Summer Program
The SSGF Summer Program is designed for Troy High School 2024 graduates who are not pursuing college but are interested in starting a career in Information Technology (IT). The program provides paid training to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ certification, a nationally recognized entry-level IT certification.
We will also work with local IT companies to provide students with a paid internship, upon successful completion of the CompTIA A+ certification exam.
Skills attained by completing the CompTIA A+ certification exam:
- Hardware Management: You learn about different parts of a computer and how to use them.
- Operating Systems: You learn how to Install and use Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile operating systems.
- Software Troubleshooting: You learn how to find and fix problems with computers and mobile devices.
- Networking: You learn about different types of networks and how to connect them.
- Device and Network Troubleshooting: You learn how to solve problems with devices and networks.
- Security: You learn how to protect computers and networks from threats.
- Mobil Devices: You learn how to set up and use laptops and other mobile devices.
- Virtualization and Cloud Computing: You learn about cloud computing and how to set up virtual computers.
- Operational Procedures: You learn the best ways to work safely and professionally.
SSGF 2024 Program Details
- Our program will run from Monday July 8th to Friday August 30th
- Students will learn 5 hours per day for 5 days a week for 8 weeks.
- This will be 200 total hours.
- Students will be paid at a rate of $15.25 per hour.
- Lunch will be provided for the students.
